Who am I?
Alana Meixner, LCSW
Lic # 95737
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) with over 20 years of experience supporting individuals, couples, and families
I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Family and Human Services from the University of Oregon, my Master’s degree in Social Work from Columbia University, and a postgraduate certificate in Forensic Psychology from John Jay College of Criminal Justice in New York City. My clinical training and professional background allow me to work thoughtfully with both complex emotional issues and everyday stressors.
For 15 years, I practiced in New York City in a variety of clinical and leadership roles. I served as Program Director for adolescent residential treatment programs, worked as a therapist within foster care agencies, and provided counseling services through the New York County District Attorney’s Office, supporting individuals and families impacted by violence and trauma. These experiences shaped my ability to work effectively with high-stress situations, trauma, and family systems. I also maintained a part-time psychotherapy private practice while working full-time.
In 2020, I relocated to the Los Angeles area and now offer both in-person and virtual therapy from my private psychotherapy practice in Redondo Beach. I work with clients experiencing anxiety, depression, work-related stress, relationship challenges, parenting concerns, and family conflict. My approach is practical, strengths-based, and tailored to each client’s unique needs.
